Songs to
Hold You

Kadri Voorand
in duo with Mihkel Mälgand

SHORT PORTRAIT

With Songs to Hold You, Kadri Voorand opens a new chapter — moving from the bold, expansive sound she's known for to something more intimate: music that draws the listener inward rather than outward.

Hailing from a fishing village on the northern Estonian coast, Voorand grew up inside music — folk traditions, coastal songs, a family of performers. She studied classical piano before finding jazz, and continued her education at the Royal Swedish Music Academy in Stockholm. That Nordic formation is audible: a directness, an economy of means, a refusal of ornament for its own sake.

Live, Voorand is a singular presence — moving between vocals, piano, violin, and live electronics, building an atmosphere where audiences become part of the music itself. Songs to Hold You captures that intimacy on record for the first time.

Songs to Hold You

Kadri Voorand in duo with Mihkel Mälgand

(Wild Source Music / o-tone music)

Fourteen songs recorded and produced by Voorand in her home studio in Lahemaa, Estonia. The music sits in the space between vocal jazz, art song, and Nordic folk — meditative without being passive, simple without being empty.

Mastered by Svante Forsbäck (2× Grammy nominee). Mixed by Kaarel Tamra and Johannes Lõhmus.

Singles: Katariina Rosalie (Oct 2025) · Imagine (Nov 2025) · Tunnistus (Feb 2026) · Let Me Hold You (Mar 2026)

"Kadri Voorand is a people person. Whether playing piano, violin or thumb piano, the audience were hanging on her every note, and when asked to join in, the audience sang as one."
